Leandro Lucchesi (Ancona, 1999) is a multidisciplinary artist currently based in Rome (IT) where he is pursuing MA studies in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies at NABA-Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti. 

He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Light Design at ABAMC-Accademia di Belle Arti di Macerata while working as a lighting technician in theaters such as the Sferisterio di Macerata and the Arena di Verona. He later expanded his practice within the field of architecture, collaborating with various firms across Italy.

His research investigates how technological systems influence perception and behaviour within a social context of constant exposure to images and widespread surveillance. 

Using physical and perceptual phenomena, particularly light, he explores the evolution of data transmission systems: from decryption codes, such as ASCII characters, to image compression processes, with a particular interest on the informations that are lost and distorted. 

He often work with recycled materials, operating within the very same production logic that he is questioning.
