The work connects natural and urban surfaces, showing a visual similarity between tree bark and the morphological evolution of the city of Rome. Both are complex systems that change slowly, influenced by time, environmental conditions and external factors. 

By juxtaposing the textures of centuries-old tree bark with satellite images of expanding commercial areas, the project reflects on the costs of consumerism and the impact of rapid urban evolution on ecosystems.

The choice of cyanotype, a photographic technique that uses sunlight to imprint images, refers to photosynthesis and becomes a metaphor for memory and transformation, both of places and of the trees that grow there.
